Oak Ridges Moraine Western Superior

In many parts of southern Ontario, such as the Fergus area, the last glaciation formed a hummocky moraine landscape and left widespread till deposits. The hummocky landscape forms critical source-water protection areas and captures significant amounts of recharge, which is re-distributed farther along the watershed flow system or provides an important rural water supply from wells.
