The Section maintains a set of calibration pads in Ottawa, that can be used for both airborne (helicopter or fixed-wing) and ground (hand-held) spectrometers. The Section offers consultation on calibration procedures, data processing and analysis.
Gamma-ray spectrometry standards laboratory

The Section can offer expert advice and assistance in re-processing and/or interpreting a set of airborne or ground gamma-ray spectrometry data, at both technical and geological levels:
The Section offers a practical workshop-style seminar on Airborne Gamma-Ray Spectrometry, Theory and Applications combining a series of case histories with a high level of practical knowledge and field experience.
The manual for the workshop is also available as GSC Open File 3061 (Shives et al, 1995), and can be ordered directly from the Geological Survey of Canada Bookstore
For all of these services, contact the Section Head, Rob B.K. Shives, for further information (availability, scheduling, pricing).
